Intuitive Training Methods…

Sean started his journey in the world of horses at barely the age of 5.

He soon became a proficient rider getting successfully riding ponies in local show jumping competitions. This led on to competing in national and international competitions, where he represented his country, Ireland. He worked for two years at a commercial stable in Italy, which gave him a wealth of experience and the opportunity to learn from some of the best riders at that time.

More than 25 years ago Sean arrived in Mallorca and fell in love with the island and by now he considers himself to be half Mallorcan.

Immediately upon arrival he started working as a rider as well as a trainer.

Over the years Sean has worked with an uncountable number of riders and horses. He has trained children from as young as 6, learning to ride and jumping cross poles who then advanced to competing in local show jumping competitions. From there they went on to national shows and managed to classify to represent their country in international competitions.

On 13 occasions his pupils have qualified for the European Championship in Showjumping and on three of these his students formed part of the Spanish, English and Finnish teams respectively.

Many of his students have won numerous gold, silver and bronze medals at the Spanish Pony Championships both in showjumping as well as the complete competition. His students have won the Prince of Asturias trophy 4 times and in the prestigious Princess Elena Trophy Competition in Mallorca one of his current or former pupils have won the trophy 7 years consecutively.

Sean is passionate about competitions and although he is happy to have experienced such good results in these, he stresses that it is not only about competing and wanting to win. It takes a lot of work to succeed and all aspects of keeping the horse in the best possible condition need to be considered as well as creating a firm bond between horse and rider.
